Today we finished watching the Moon documentary. We then discussed the Moon documentary questions, and then students received the study guide for the test on Friday. I have attached this below. Some classes were able to start training on using the clickers for taking the test, but not all. We will complete this later this week. The homework is to start studying using the study guide. ![]()

Today in class we finished watching the Moon Documentary. Homework for students is to answer the questions below written in the notebook if they have not done so already. Heads up, there is a Earth in Space Unit F Test on Friday I was out sick on Wednesday. Students worked on Activity 83. We finished Act. 83 today and started a Moon documentary video. We did not finish the video and will finish on Monday.
Today we set up our lab notebooks for Act. 83 but did not get to Act. 83. We discussed how the moon affect's the ocean tides, and why this occurs. We watched the video posted below, and then had a class discussion. Homework is for students to brainstorm what they hypothesize the effects of a two moon solar system would have on the Earth. (i.e. would the orbit be an ellipse? How long would a year be? etc) There paragraphs are due tomorrow.
I was out of the classroom today on the 7th grade science field trip to Beacon Rock and Bonneville Dam. Students were in the trusted hands of Carl Larsen, and completed Act. 82, where students investigated the relationship between the moon's phases and the water's tides. Homework for students is ACt. 82 AQ 1-3.
Today we started class by doing a formal NON GRADED quiz. This was for me to assess students on their retention of the moon phases. If you were absent, try to draw and label the 8 main moon phases and give them a name. If you can't do this, then that is feedback for you to go back to Act. 79-81 and review. We then completed Act. 81. The website wasn't working so we instead examined the following webpage: http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/review/dr-marc-earth/moon-phases.html Homework: Students must complete 81 AQ 1,2,4, and 6. Students also need to finish defining vocabulary words on page three of the glossary in the lab notebook. I will be gone on Monday for the 7th grade science field trip, and students will be in the trusted hands of Mr. Larsen. Have a great weekend!
Today we completed Act 80 in class. We did not get to Act. 81 yet. The homework is Act 80 AQ and add vocabulary to that we have covered thus far into the glossary.
Here is a website link that can help to explain the moon phases. http://spaceplace.nasa.gov/review/dr-marc-earth/moon-phases.html Today we completed Activity 80 in class. If you were absent today, I have posted an alternative assignment (LABsent) that you can complete and tape in your lab notebook instead of coming in before or after school to make up the lab. I have also uploaded a PDF of Act. 80. Homework is analysis questions 1-5. Also, today was picture day. Retakes will be in November.
