Today in class we completed Act. 29. This was a reading assignment and filled out a reading guide. Students then completed Act. 29 AQ which will be checked tomorrow.
Today we reviewed concepts from Act. 28 and how water erodes and deposits materials. I then checked Act. 28 Analysis questions and put them in the grade book. We then took a lab notebook/planner quiz. If you were absent, please schedule a time with me to come in and make this up.
Today we learned how water erodes canyons, etc over time in Activity 28. I also checked Act. 27 AQ and put this in the grade book. If you were absent, please complete the labsent activity. Homework is Act 28 AQ.
I apologize for the delayed update. Monday we went on the St. Helen's Field Trip, and Tuesday we discussed what we saw on the field trip, and finished the Mt. St. Helen's video. Wednesday we learned how topography changes over time in Act. 26. The homework was to finish all AQ. Thursday we learned how rainfall affects different building sites in Act. 27. The homework is all analysis questions. For Friday, we began learning how to take quizzes and tests using electronic clickers. Please be on top of your grades. Having two grades lower than a C will result in not participating in 8th grade promotion. Finish strong!
Today we finished Act. 24 and started Act. 25. The homework for tonight is Act. 24 and 25 AQ. I will be out Friday, but you will be in the trusted hands of Mr. Larson. You will be watching a documentary on Mt. St. Helen's to prepare you for the field trip on Monday. Please meet at your Core Teachers designated place first thing Monday morning. Thank you.
Monday-Wed we finished testing our towers, and periods 3 and 4 started Act. 24 today. Periods 1-2 have no homework, and periods 3-4 have Act. 24 AQ as homework. ATTENTION: FIELD TRIP FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN BY THURSDAY. I will not be in school on Friday, and we leave on Monday morning. If I do not have it on Thursday, then you will not be able to go on the field trip.
Wednesday, Thursday, and part of Friday were spent building our earthquake towers. We took our plate tectonics unit test today, and turned in our field trips forms (today is the due date). We will test our earthquake towers on Monday.
Today we worked on our towers all day. We also passed out the study guides for Friday's test. Reminder - Field trip forms are due by Friday. No homework!
Today we spent the day building our towers. We will do our final building test on Thursday, and the plate tectonics unit test is on Friday. I have attached the study guide. There is no homework, though I would appreciate you to bring in any extra paper bags from Fred Meyer or Safeway to keep our towers/materials in.
