I apologize for the delay of updates. I have been out the past two days with training. On Wednesday and Thursday, students watched a documentary on Blood Diamonds. With the substitute, students discussed issues of race, culture, economy, human rights, etc. as a result. Heads up- the documentary contains some serious material that some may find disturbing. This is an injustice that is happening in real time as a result of a mineral that we have dubbed as valuable. Upon my return today, we talked about how we vote with our dollar, and checked out betterworldshopper.com to see how we as middle school students can positively contribute to supporting ethically made products. There is no homework over the weekend, except to work on Science Fair.
